Gatebil’s three yellow BMW M5 taxis have carried thousands of visitors at Gatebil festivals around Vålerbanen, Mantorp Park and Rudskogen since 2005. We are now building a taxi no. 4!
HISTORY:
The first taxi was a BMW 3 Series M3 turbo. The following year, we built a Volvo XC90 with a tubular frame and big-block V8. Both of these have now got new owners, and in the Taxi garage there are now 3x BMW M5 (E60)
The M5 V10 engine, which originally produces 507 horses, has been slightly upgraded, and all cars have been lightened by almost 300 kg. Otherwise, all taxis are specially rigged like a race car, with a solid roll cage, 4 deep Sparco racing chairs, fire extinguishing systems and 4-point harnesses. Each car can carry 3 passengers.
Price per. person pr. trip is kr. 700, – NOK / SEK.
NOTE! There is no age limit for sitting on, but you must be at least 150 cm tall to fit well in seats and harnesses.
