Visit Gatebil festivals in 2019!
Have you ever dreamed about going to a Gatebil Festival? This year it will happen! Here follows some information about the two biggest Gatebil festivals in 2019. The main festival is held at Rudskogen (Norway) July 12-14, and the second biggest at Mantorp Park (Sweden) June 14-16.
At Gatebil everyone can drive their own street car or racing car on the best race tracks in Scandinavia, bring your car for the exhibition, visit Gatebil as a spectator, stay at the camp area all weekend and party at the Aftertrack in the evening.

Day tickets cost NOK 300 (approx. EUR 30), and festival tickets with access to the whole area from NOK 900 (approx. EUR 90).
All people will need a day or festival-ticket. The car requires a car or a parking-ticket
DRIVE YOUR CAR AT THE TRACK
You need to register as a driver and show driving licence, attend a driver briefing and have a car in good condition (plates are not required). Personal equipment such as helmet and a fire safe driving suite are also required for personal safety. There are 3 classes for driving, scheduled every 2 hours during the day:
- Straight Line: Go as fast as you can, hitting turn-in, apex and exits. No drifting allowed. (Perfect heat for sport cars!)
- Open Line: Drift through the corners, but not on the straights.
- Drift Line: Drift as much as you like with other drift cars.
Gatebil Extreme is a racing series with two sub competitions, Time Attack and Race, driven on all five festivals by invited cars. There are all type of cars – some built in home garages with more than 1000 hp, others are professional race cars. All the cars are running in the same class, side by side, making this racing series quite unique and spectacular to watch. If you have a racecar that fits in, it’s possible to drive at one festival, as a guest driver, if you contact Gatebil.
GATEBIL DRIFT SERIES
Gatebil Drift Series is a professional series consisting of 25 of the best drivers from Norway and Sweden. All the cars have an international top standard, and they are giving the visitors at Gatebil a taste of world-class drifting.
This is a competition where all cars driving at Gatebil have an opportunity to make a perfect slide through one of the longest turns on the track, one by one! The competition in July we call ‘World Powerslide Championship’.
GATEBIL SUPER 3
This is a fantastic and spectacular competition only at Rudskogen in July. Inspired from a unique drifting tradition there will be three cars try to drive together as close as they can get to each other, have high speed and make a lot of smoke as a team, not against each other as in ordinary drifting competitions. Team Toyota, with Frederic Aasbø as team manager and one of the drivers, has won this competition every year. Will someone beat Team Toyota in 2019?
At all Gatebil festivals there’s a big area for exhibition where you can see all type of cars. A dedicated jury are inspecting all cars in different classes attending and the winners are announced at the award on saturday afternoon.
GATEBIL CAMP AREA
To get the real Gatebil experience, we recommend to stay at the camp-site. Those bringing their race-/track car will stay at the depot area. Here you can bring a bus, a caravan or a small tent.
At friday and saturday evening there’s a big aftertrack party at the camp area, that everyone with a festival ticket can access.
HOTELS OUTSIDE THE FESTIVAL
If you would like to stay at a hotel instead of the Gatebil camp area or race depot, we can recommend the following:
We recommend Quality Hotel and Resort in Sarpsborg, only 15 minutes by car from Rudskogen Motorpark. This is a big hotel, easy to find, and with a nice pool area. Also easily accessible parking space.
MANTORP PARK, SWEDEN:
Search for hotel in Mjölby, a small town, only 10 minutes with car from Mantorp. If you can go 15-20 minutes, there’s a bigger town called Linköping, where you will find a lot of hotels and restaurants and some good night clubs.
