Not sure if you should travel to the Gatebil Summer Festival at Mantorp Park? Here’s the answer: YES, you should!
We could give you hundreds of reasons, but we’ll keep it simple – here are 10 of the best reasons why you don’t want to miss this year’s most packed car festival!
1. Drive on the track with your own car
Street car free driving is the heart of the festival. Here you get to experience the feeling of driving on the track – with your own car! Anyone with a driver’s license (or valid license) and a car in good condition is welcome. The only thing required apart from the car is a helmet and flameproof overalls. We have different driving passes depending on experience – Rookie, Open Line and Drift Line. Choose between driving the whole weekend, or just one day!
2. Walk freely among the teams in the depot
At Gatebil, you’re not just a spectator – you’re part of the experience. Walk around the pits, peek into the pit boxes and talk to the drivers. It’s a unique chance to get really close to the teams, the cars and the genuine motorsport feeling.
3. Choose your vibe at the festival campsite
At Gatebil there is a campsite for everyone!
– Racecamp: For those who drive on tracks.
– Festivalcamping: For those who love to party around the clock.
– Family camping: For those who want quieter evenings but still want to experience everything.
No matter where you camp, the atmosphere is always great!
4. Gatebil Aftertrack – party in true Gatebil spirit
When the banana falls silent, the party starts!
Friday and Saturday night at 22.00, Gatebil Aftertrack invites you to a dance floor, great atmosphere and heavy beats. On stage we see TIX, Albatraoz, Rednex and Det Där Bandet among others. Age limit: 18 years. Festival wristband required.
5. Breisladden – Scandinavia’s most legendary show
Breisladden is a must! An open competition where everyone who dares can show what they can do in the Paris curve – Gatebil’s most iconic place.
The qualifying runs on Friday afternoon, and the grand final is decided on Saturday evening. The prize-giving ceremony will take place at Aftertracken. Whether you’re driving or watching – expect a great show!
6. Show off your car in the Showgarden
Gatebil Showgarden is not just any car show. It’s where style, creativity and passion meet in a powerful mix. Participants offer parade driving, car limbo and compete in the Showgarden Battle – where only one car takes home the champion belt.
7. Ride along in a Streetcar Taxi
Do you want to feel the adrenaline on the track but don’t have your own car? No problem at all!
In Gatebil Taxi, you get to ride with an experienced driver in a full-fledged race car. All equipment is borrowed on site. Minimum age: 16 years.
8. Car fun for the whole family
Gatebil is child-friendly during the day – perfect for sparking interest in engines in a safe and inspiring environment. What’s more, we have free admission for children up to the age of 14!
Follow the drama in Gatebil Extreme, feel the smoke in Breisladden and watch the teams tinker in the pit.
Tips: Stay at the family campsite and bring hearing protection – we also sell children’s coats on site.
9. Gatebil Extreme – extreme racing to say the least!
In Gatebil Extreme, everything is allowed – almost. Limited only by the FIA’s safety requirements, Europe’s most extreme builds and brutal drivers take part.
On Friday, Extreme Time Attack, Saturday and Sunday the Extreme Race – and on Saturday evening: Superstage at full speed.
Missing it? Then you’re missing something big.
10. Sweden vs. Norway – Nordkampen is back!
On Friday evening, the Paris curve is set to explode!
Sweden and Norway’s top drifting drivers meet in an epic derby where only one team can win glory, pride and the crowd’s cheers.
Sweden is the reigning champion – but will Norway take home the revenge this year?
Show which team you support – bring your flag and your voice. This will be a night you’ll never forget!
