Join us on a journey 20 years back in time! More specifically to Sigdal! This is where Gatebil ran its first Gatebil On Ice in 2006. We’re talking happy people, fat cars and a great atmosphere. Alongside a bunch of Group B cars (MG Metro 6R4 and Ford RS200!), familiar faces and snowflakes from the glacier, (now deceased) Hans Dahlbäck also visited Gatebil for the first time in winter. His all-raw VW Golf set the standard on the track. Right up until Stian Hafsengen’s ex. Carlos Sainz SR. Ford Escort WRC had secretly been rebuilt – after a huge mishap in Kristiansand the year before – and entered the track and placed the locker. Åge Flugre, in his Mg Metro 6R4, narrowly missed out on victory in the glacier gondola – the V6 glided between the mountains in Sigdal. The aforementioned profiles, and a good selection of skilled drivers, meant that Gatebil On Ice went down in history as one of Gatebil’s many memorable moments.
In 2026, Gatebil On Ice will be back on the calendar: as early as January 24, the madness will be back in full swing – for the first time in 10 years. And YOU are invited!
