It’s been 10 years since the last time – but now we’re going all out and organizing the best Gatebil on Ice ever on the ice at Hebbe! This will be a day for the whole family, with the coolest cars and the coolest ice driving. We’ll set up with music, hot toddy and food in beautiful surroundings at Solevatn in Nedre Eggedal, less than 2 hours drive from Oslo. This will be the winter event of the year!

*Mild weather has been a challenge in the past, and to deal with this, we’re going for a solution used in the World Surfing Championships and other weather-dependent sports: Instead of locking ourselves to one Saturday, we’re setting aside three Saturdays this winter and hitting the road when we see that the weather gods are on our side. That’s why Gatebil on Ice 2026 will be held on one of these Saturdays. So set the dates, pack the thermos and get the ice cars ready – see you at Gatebil on Ice: World Edition at Hebbes Racing this winter!
We invite you to Gatebil on Ice: World Edition with the following exciting news:
– Completely new tracks are being created this year with a focus on as much action as possible in front of the spectator area! – Ice racing is open to everyone, but you must register in advance (link further down the page). Basic technical rules apply. – Lappi and DPS tires are allowed (studded tires with up to 3 mm protrusion) and invited cars may drive with rally studs (7-9 mm protrusion). – Investments have been made in new toilet facilities and there is a warming room on site with access to hot food and drinks. Norway’s best-known Bakte Potetbu is coming to serve fresh baked potatoes. Namely Potetbua Holmestrand. – At 15:00 there will be a super final where the audience together with the announcer and DJ will choose the winners of the “coolest driving of the year”! – Invitations have been sent out to talented drivers and profiles from both far and near to create a real “World Edition” event.

Registration for driving:
Sign up now to be assured of driving. Everyone is free to use regular road tires, Lappi or DPS tires with up to 3 mm lugs. If you want to drive with rally spikes (3-9 mm protrusion), check it in the registration form, and then Gatebil will make an assessment of how many people can drive with ice spikes based on track conditions and show factor. Feel free to bring both types of tires to be guaranteed the most possible driving. If you have ticked rally studs in the registration form, you will be notified in good time if you are allowed to drive with these.
Registration for driving opens Friday, December 12.
