Gol Showdown: A car event that takes it back to its roots!

Drifting, car show and music all day long!

We invite you to this year’s car event, where we go “back to the roots”, with raw driving and good vibes in true Fast & Furious spirit!

– Norway’s best drifters compete in “Team Tandem” with grassroots cars (max 350 hp)
– You can participate with your own car in “Freestyle Drift”, where you get 30 seconds to show what you can do (requires helmet and car in good technical condition). There are no power limits or requirements for the type of car – just bring what you’ve got!
– Car show, live DJ sets, open depot, food and drink
– And best of all: It’s the audience that decides who wins!

Come as you are, with or without a car, and join this year’s happening!

Halingdal is where it all happens on 23. August! Gatebil together with Fredric Aasbø create a show you will never forget!

TEAM TANDEM: Drifting cars in pairs (350 hp)

Team Tandem is a tough drifting competition for the best drivers in grassroots cars with a maximum of 350 horsepower. Here we go “back to the roots” and the goal is the best possible tandem and the closest possible driving!

This page is for registration of drivers and cars. Both participants on each team must register.

Due to high demand, the organizers reserve the right to limit the number of participants.

Type of competition: Two drivers and two cars driving tandem in teams. We want around 20 teams (a total of 40 cars and drivers) to compete for the public’s favor – because yes, it’s the public that votes for the winners! You and a friend need to be as coordinated as possible.

Requirements: Rear-wheel drive drifting vehicle with max 350 hp. Type of tires is free. It is desirable that the cars have at least half cages, racing chairs and racing belts. Technical inspections will be carried out on the cars. Passengers are not allowed during the competition. Driving equipment (helmet, driving suit and gloves) is required for drivers. Unfortunately, we do not have approval to allow juniors to participate. We are extra careful about leaks so do everything you can to avoid this and we also require tarpaulin under the cars in the depot.

FREESTYLE DRIFT: Come with the car you have – and show what you can do! (One and one car)

Freestyle Drift is YOUR chance to burn tires and show off your car to the crowd – whether it’s a two-wheel-drive, four-wheel-drive, classic, “glider” or modern sports car. Each car is given 30 seconds to show what he can do with his tool, and the audience then gives a score. Maybe you’ll be the crowd favorite and win the title of Freestyle Drift Champion 2025!

It’s important to point out that it’s all about charming the audience – so a Fiat Panda is just as likely to win as a Funny Car dragster.

This page is for driver and car registration.

Due to high demand, the organizers reserve the right to limit the number of participants.

Competition format: One car gets the entire burnout at its disposal for 30 seconds to prove its worth (no stationary burnout, the car must be in motion to save the asphalt). The audience then gives a score, and the crowd favorites get to drive up to three times until we are left with a winner!

Requirements: No regular drifting cars – this should be for the “man in the street”. We want some cool, special street-approved cars (but rally cars, dragsters, unregistered classics, etc. are also ok). No car requirements (everything is allowed) as long as the technical aspects are in order. Drivers are required to wear a helmet in road cars, and full driving equipment in race cars. It is permitted to have a passenger in the car with the same driving equipment as the driver.

If the car and driver do not have a license, a one-time license must be purchased here: https://www.bilsportlisens.no/produkt/banedag-gatebiler/ (select NMK Gol)
