Gatebil Gymkhana Show came into our program in 2018, when it was first time organised at Gatebil Summer Festival in Mantorp Park in Sweden. It was a great success with full grandstands and amazing atmosphere.
WHAT IS GYMKHANA
The concept of Gymkhana is a term that has perhaps primarily been made known to more public via number of Ken Block films that are titled with this word. In the context of competition, however, the concept is slightly different. There are two different forms of competition in Gymkhana.
- In the traditional variant, the task is to drive through an obstacle course in the shortest possible time. Various obstacles associated with the many sponsors of the series have been set up here, ranging from giant bucket seats and airplanes to huge cones, tyres, barrels and other objects which the athletes must maneuver around with as few mistakes as possible.
- In the newer version, one must drive against sensors and get points based on how close one is to an obstacle and how wide one is in the turns.
What is so special about Gymkhana? Spectators get to see the whole game room from start line until checker flag, while the drivers get to really work through different obstacles and challenges while doing it on best time possible!
It is a nerve wrecking maze and we love it!
