10 good reasons to go to Gatebil Vålerbanen this weekend!

Are you considering going to Gatebilfestival? The festival that takes place at Vålerbanen this coming weekend is the biggest of the year. More than 10,000 visitors come here every year to experience speed, excitement and drama on the track and to have a good time with friends. Here are 10 reasons that will convince you to make the trip too:

  1. TEST YOUR OWN CAR ON TRACK

Gatebil free driving opens up for what Gatebil is most of all about: Driving your own car on a track! Anyone with a driver’s license and a car in good technical condition can participate. All that’s required is a helmet and a flame-retardant driving suit.

  1. EXPERIENCE EXCITEMENT AND DRAMA IN EXTREME RACES AND TIME ATTACK

In Gatebil Extreme, there are no technical restrictions for participating vehicles (other than FIA safety requirements), which means the series attracts some of the most extreme cars and the toughest drivers. Here we find teams that constantly push the boundaries and love to put on a show for the public.

At Rudskogen, Extreme Time Attack (best lap time) is run on Friday and Extreme Race (first to finish) on Saturday and Sunday. Our dedicated announcers keep you constantly updated on what’s happening on the track, no matter where you are as an audience member. We love extreme excitement and drama from start to finish!

  1. GET CLOSE TO THE TEAMS IN THE DEPOT

At Gatebil at Rudskogen, visitors can move freely between the teams in the depot. You can also visit the pit boxes, where some of the most extreme cars are located, and talk to both teams and drivers. For those of you who are not part of the Gatebil community, this is a unique opportunity to see some of the passion and hard work behind the achievements on the track!

  1. PARTICIPATE IN BREISALDDEN

This year, Breisladden is a unique opportunity for anyone who enjoys gossiping and drifting to show off and compete against other drivers (and themselves) and see how far up the results list you can get. This year, Breisladden is open to everyone! The six best prizes and the winner will be crowned World Champion in Breisladden!

  1. SEE SOME OF THE WORLD’S BEST DRIFTERS IN SUPER 3

Street Car Super 3 is an entertaining driving competition where three and three cars drive together in teams. Each team must achieve the best possible interaction. Speed, angle, smoke and how close the cars are together are judged.

This year, almost 30 teams are taking part, and the competition is tougher than ever!

  1. TUNING YOUR CAR

Or just stroll around in the sunshine and look at all the grimy cars shining in the exhibition area. From everyday cars that stand out from the crowd to unique vehicles that are only used on special occasions, you’ll find it all here.

  1. RIDE ON IN STREET CAR TAXI

Gatebil Taxi gives you the opportunity to experience a thrilling ride around the track without having to provide your own car and driving equipment. You have to be at least 150 centimeters tall to ride with Gatebil Taxi. Tickets can be purchased in the Gatebil shop. You can also borrow a driving suit and helmet.

All the taxis are specially rigged as race cars, they have room for three passengers and are driven by our skilled and experienced drivers.

  1. MEET LIKE-MINDED CAR ENTHUSIASTS

Meet happy car people! This is where we are – all of us!

  1. LET YOUR KIDS EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF DRIVING

Bring the kids to Gatebil! Gatebil is a daytime family event, and there’s nothing better than letting the kids experience and learn from an early age that cars are fun! Let them cheer on their favorites in Gatebil Extreme, let them experience the smoke and horsepower in Breisladden and let them have fun with the entertaining Super 3 competition!

Families are recommended to stay at our family camp.

Triple world champion Fredric Aasbø will be present – which is cool for both young and old!

NB! Due to noise, we recommend that children wear hearing protection near the depot and track.

  1. CONCERT AT AFTERTRACK

On Friday and Saturday evenings, there’ll be a full-on party at the camp when well-known Norwegian and international artists come to Rudskogen with party music and Russian bus hits. This year, you’ll get to experience Norwegian Katastrofe and Staysmann & Lazz, not to mention the German duo Italo Brothers.

Everyone over the age of 18 with a festival ticket has access to Gatebil Aftertrack.
