Are you ready for the coolest festival of the year? Gatebil Juli takes place 2-5. July 2026!

Rudskogen is where the real action is!

Gatebil July is known as perhaps the Nordic region’s coolest car event. The gnarliest cars, best drivers and coolest artists visit Gatebil in July. It’s a blissful mix of festival fun, folk festival and track driving in a league that few other car events can match. It’s both fast and sideways – with everything from more or less ordinary cars to world-class thoroughbred racing cars.

Off the track, we can offer an exhibition of everything from classic racing cars to the hottest show cars. For many, there’s prestige in premiering their new car at Gatebil in July. If you have a tough car yourself, you should definitely exhibit at Gatebil! They are also awarded prizes in a number of different classes. So if your car is extra tough, nice or well-built, there’s a good chance you’ll take home a trophy for your mantelpiece.

SPECTACULAR: In 2025, Gatebil turned the level up a notch and offered several exciting new features. Among other things, Norway’s coolest cultural treasure – Il Tempo Gigante – on the track(!), a fierce FMX and snowmobile show and an air show with the legendary Spitfire!

The festival at Rudskogen attracts visitors and participants from all over Norway – and the world. Gatebil has previously had cars sent from countries such as the USA and New Zealand, and participants from up to 17 different countries.

Norway’s perhaps two fattest Porsches: 917 and 962! Both cars are Norwegian-built replicas, with elements of original parts, but with a finish on a par with the best in the world. And a soundtrack to match. Photo (below): Thomasz Majewski.

As an added bonus, both cars will hit the track over the weekend. Whether it will ever be possible to see two such cars on the track again, together, we doubt. So this is one happening you won’t want to miss! This has to be on a par with Christmas Eve, Friday night drinks and a birthday all in one day for car enthusiasts.

When the popular motorcycle festival gets underway at Rudskogen on Thursday, July 2, four days of action-packed festival fun await from morning to night. If there’s one year you shouldn’t miss Gatebil, it’s this year!

“Breisladden” is widely known far beyond Norway’s borders. What began as a simple competition has developed into a fierce and prestigious power struggle – where the level keeps getting higher! In addition to Breisladden, competitions include Gatebil Extreme, Gatebil Drift Battle and Super3 + + + + No matter what type of track driving you like – there’s something for everyone!

Gatebil in July can offer the biggest Aftertrack of the year – where a number of famous artists have played in the past – and the show won’t be any worse this year. On the contrary! The combination of Aftertrack and camp is a festival experience that goes above and beyond in terms of party factor! Do you like parties and fun? Then this is an experience you can’t miss.

Expecting 40,000
When the sun goes down over Rudskogen, the Aftertrack concerts begin. On stage in 2025 were Carina Dahl and Hagle, among others, who created an atmosphere into the late hours of the night.

Nordic Gatebil Championship in Beerpong! Several well-known Gatebil profiles will participate with their own teams! And so can you!

Would you like to drive your car on a track? Now’s your chance! Of course, street cars are first and foremost about driving on a track. Be warned: this is an experience that almost always adds to the flavor! Please note that during Gatebil in July, many people want to get out on the track, so it’s important to get there early. You’ll find an overview of all types of driving taking place at Gatebil further down this page.

On the evening of Saturday, July 4, right after the prize-giving ceremony on the main stage, we’re kicking off a new round of what Gatebil was once legendary for – a bikini competition! And there will be cash prizes! More info at the bottom of the page.

Lots of hustle and bustle, happy and festive people, the biggest and fattest Aftertrack of the year, intense track driving, new and old acquaintances at the coolest camping area around. There are many reasons to attend this year’s biggest street car event. Perhaps most importantly, you and tens of thousands of other car enthusiasts will be treated to a weekend of the coolest cars and engines Norway has to offer! We guarantee a weekend filled with experiences you won’t soon or ever forget. We’re really looking forward to it!

Camping
More info

Do you want to experience everything that happens at Gatebil, both during the day and in the evening? Then you need to stay at Gatebil camp! Here you will find useful information and some simple rules that are important to follow to ensure that everyone has the best possible experience at Gatebil.

NO ADVANCE BOOKING
At all Gatebil festivals there are large camping areas with space for everyone. Groups of friends who want to gather are encouraged to come together, or arrange with the guards that you save space for those who arrive a little later.

FESTIVAL TICKET GIVES PERSONAL ACCESS TO CAMPING AREAS
Anyone with a festival ticket can stay at the campsite. All cars and caravans in the camping area require a car/motorhome pass or caravan pass. Tents are included.

FAMILY CAMP
At the festival camp, the atmosphere is often particularly good in the evenings. But there are also separate camps where it’s quieter – we call them family camps. You can see where these are on the area maps or just ask the Gatebil crew on arrival.

Showers and toilets
The location of showers and toilets is marked on the area map for each festival.

AFTERTRACK IN THE EVENING
At all Gatebil festivals there is Aftertrack in the evening. Concerts, shows and DJs – either on a large outdoor stage or in a tent. Everyone over the age of 18 with a festival ticket has access to Aftertrack.

RULES OF ORDER

CLEAN UP YOUR OWN CAMPING AREA – If there is a bit of a mess around your caravan during the festival, the police won’t ask you to clean it up, but it must be as clean as when you arrived before you go home. It is NOT allowed to leave sofas, refrigerators, broken caravans and the like. The area must be cleaned in garbage bags distributed by our cleaning team.

FIRE HAZARD, GLASS BOTTLES, DRIVING A MOPED – The fire hazard is something everyone must take seriously, and common sense applies. Disposable barbecues are forbidden, but ordinary barbecues on legs are allowed, unless otherwise announced before or at the festival. Glass bottles are also not allowed, as broken glass is unpleasant for both people and cars. It is also not permitted to drive mopeds, scooters and the like around the camp or depot area. ATVs towing racing cars to and from the depot are an exception.

LEAVE THE CAR! – At Gatebil camping it is forbidden to drive a car after kl. 21.00. Driving in the area is only permitted on arrival and departure. It is also not permitted to start the engine. Remember that if you are behind the wheel and have been drinking alcohol, the police can arrest you for drink-driving even if you do not start the car.

GUARDS AT GATEBIL
ProTect is responsible for maintaining order at Gatebil. The police are also on site, and both the fire brigade and infirmary are open 24 hours a day. See the area map or ask one of the Gatebil Crew members for help.

MUSIC
It should be quiet in all areas after kl. 02.00.
Loud music is not allowed on the family campsite, and it must be completely silent from 1:00 pm. 20.00.

EXTREME TIME ATTACK

Anyone can drive into the pits or pit lane at any time to change tires and adjust the car, and out on the track again to try to drive even faster. There are 5 races in the series, 1 at each festival. The times from the Extreme Time Attack provide the starting line-up for the Extreme Race.

EXTREME RACE
