The first Gatebiltreff of the year was completed. Much and varying weather characterized the Våler track this weekend. Many visitors made the trip, and world-class driving was demonstrated. The children’s ring was a returning and very popular feature. It makes a Gatebil heart happy to see hundreds of visiting car enthusiasts brave pouring rain, low temperatures and strong winds to catch “The Big Entry Show” – hats off to you! And what a show by the drivers!
Gatebil på Vålerbanen is the most intimate event on the calendar, with the opportunity to camp right by the track. A trip to the campsite confirmed that the guests who attended enjoyed themselves in both wagons and tents.
As mentioned, the driving was exceptional this weekend. Skilled drivers master both wet and dry, which was proven – with bravura – this weekend that very many do! A number of competitions were run this weekend. Here are the top three drivers in the various disciplines:
