WÅTLAND WINS THE BREISLADDEN AFTER A HISTORIC FINAL NIGHT AT THE GATEBIL SUMMER FESTIVAL

There are some nights you’ll never forget—and the Breisladden final at the Gatebil Summer Festival was definitely one of them.

In front of packed stands at Mantorp Park’s legendary Paris curve, the toughest drivers were set to battle it out for one of Gatebil’s most prestigious titles. After a wild qualifying session, expectations were sky-high—but the final still managed to deliver even more.

The audience got exactly what Breisladden is all about: full-throttle action, extreme angles, smoke shows, and drivers who dare to push the limits.

One of the big talking points of the evening was the driver from Wales, Lwi Edwards, who did something few would even dare to attempt. Not once, but twice, he spun his car in a spectacular 360-degree drift right in the middle of the competition. A moment that sent the entire Paris grandstand into a frenzy—and one that is sure to go down in Gatebil history.

History was also made when Nils Leijer rolled out Gatebil’s very first drifting limousine. With a car unlike anything ever seen at Gatebil before, he drove his way all the way to an impressive sixth place and proved once again that Breisladden is about more than just results—it’s about putting on a show the audience will never forget.

But once the dust had settled, there was one driver left standing at the top.

Petter Wåtland showed why he has been one of the strongest drift drivers of the weekend. With complete control, a daring approach, and driving at the absolute highest level, he secured victory at Breisladden 2026.

But history almost took a different turn.

Sweden’s Tony Averstedt was just a few points away from achieving what no Swedish driver has ever done before at the Gatebil Summer Festival—taking home the victory in Breisladden on Swedish soil. With raw speed, aggressive driving, and a performance that had the home crowd cheering, he proved that Sweden is truly in the running for the Breisladden throne.

After this year’s finale, we’re left with just one question:

How on earth are we going to top this next year?
