Summary of the Extreme races 2025
More info

Våler May

Dennis Bjørklund borrowed the car from his grandfather Jan Hroar, an Audi DTM car that was extremely fast both wet and dry. He won Time Attack and the first race, but was beaten by Kristian Pettersen in race 2.

Andreas Vaa took P2 in Time Attack and the first race of the year in Extreme, which was a wet pleasure. There was a lot of rain and there were both rain tires and slicks in Sunday’s race.
This race started spectacularly with Bjørklund, Pettersen and Andersson in the lead with Jødahl in the heels. Nobody remembers a coward, so Jødahl attempted to overtake in the northern corner at 180 km/h which ended deep in the tire pile on the way to Elverum. Kristian Pettersen won ahead of Dennis Bjørklund who was closely followed by Hans Jørgen Andersson.

Fredrik Wiborg dominated in Extreme with his rebuilt Mitsubishi Evo 6 and won the Time Attack and two of the races. Wiborg has built the sister car that Kristian Pettersen won a race with in the NM recently and with which Hafsengen set a track record at Rudskogen last year.

Ruben Thorsen drove his Lotus to P2 in Time Attack and P2 in race 4 on Sunday, while Henrik Frisak won Sunday’s race with Team Frisak’s Porsche 991 GT3 Cup, which father and son share driving duties.

Hans Jørgen Andersson had good positions in all the races, but didn’t quite make it this weekend, but he can take comfort in leading the series overall. Vidar Jødahl spared no expense in any of the races and scored decent positions that resulted in P3 overall in the Extreme Race.

Rudskogen July

Rudskogen 2025-07 – Extreme summarized

With the blazing sun and extreme heat, driving conditions were difficult after all the drifting for the Extreme drivers.

Dennis Bjørklund in the Audi A4 DTM and Kristian Pettersen in his modified Mitsubishi Evo 6 dominated the races this weekend. Dennis won the Time Attack and Saturday’s race, while Kristian Pettersen won on Sunday after Dennis spun at the start and ended up at the back, but still drove in to P2.

Ruben Thorsen in Lotus was at the top in Time Attack and in both races and still leads the Time Attack series overall. Team Vaa is also driving fast (father and sons) and was on the podium both Friday and Saturday. Børje Hansson was back in his sleek Audi urquattro and was in the top 6 together with Hans Jørgen Andersson in the Porsche 997 GT3 Cup and father and son Frisak in the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup.

Overall, Hans Jørgen Andersson still leads the racing series, but one race in Time Attack and two races in Race will be deducted, so the series tables will change somewhat after the last race and the points have been deducted.

End of season in Mantorp Park

Gatebil Extreme – the season is decided at Mantorp Park

Several guest drivers participated in the last Time Attack of the year with extreme Time Attack cars, and boy did they go fast! Alx Danielsson in his Porsche 968 and Karel Silha in his BMW came close to chastising Professor Wiborg in his Mitsubishi EVO 6. Wiborg was fastest with an impressive 1:11.482 with Alx just 0.477 seconds behind. Wiborg also won the Superstage.

Dennis Bjørklund drove as fast as ever in his Audi A4 DTM and won two of the races and ended up with an overall victory in both the Racing series and the Time Attack series.

Superstage Saturday night was a real thriller with exits, pushing and overtaking on yellow flags. Fantastic for the crowd in a race that seemed to go on forever! Wiborg won ahead of Bjørklund and Vaa junior. Further back in the field there were discussions about disqualifications, loss of points with subsequent video studies and assessments until late at night which fortunately ended in peace and harmony with some small adjustments in the result lists.

Ruben Thorsen also drove very well this time and finished second overall in Time Attack together with Team Vaa. Ruben had problems with the car in the first race and was overtaken a few meters from the finish line by Henrik Frisak who collected enough points to take P2 in the overall standings for Team Frisak. Ruben was P3 in the Racing Series overall and P2 in Time Attack so this is impressive.

Helene Amundsen finished P8 overall in the Racing Series, but is probably most pleased that she was faster than her mentor Vidar Jødahl in the Supra she drives!

All in all, 34 drivers took part in Extreme this season and 20 of them competed in the final at Mantorp Park. We hope for an equally good turnout next year!

About Gatebil Extreme

GATEBIL EXTREME
Gatebil Extreme is Gatebil’s own Time Attack and racing series, with everything from home-built budget cars to fully professional former factory cars taking part. The series follows the FIA’s safety requirements, but otherwise you are almost free to do whatever you want with the car, and several have engines of over an incredible 1000 horses. Gatebil Extreme was started in 2005, and since then over 200 cars/drivers have participated.

EXTREME TIME ATTACK
In Time Attack, it’s best lap time that counts. Here, the track is open for 45 minutes, where participants can choose to drive only 1 lap, or 18 which is the maximum allowed. Anyone can drive into the pits or pit lane at any time to change tires and adjust the car, and out on the track again to try to drive even faster. There are 5 races in the series, 1 at each festival. The times from the Extreme Time Attack provide the starting line-up for the Extreme Race.

EXTREME RACE
Extreme Race is a racing series with a joint start and first to finish. The number of laps varies depending on which track is being used – Vålerbanen, Mantorp park, Circuit Meppen or Rudskogen. There are 10 races in the series, 2 at each festival.

REGISTRATION
Everyone with a licensed racing car is welcome to participate. For registration or questions – contact
