Visit Gatebil Rudskogen Norway 7-10 July 2016!

More than 40.000 car enthusiast in all shape, size and genders from all over the world are visiting Gatebils main track-day festival at Rudskogen south in Norway. Gatebil has more than 6 festivals each summer in both Norway and Sweden, and in this article you can read about the biggest event at Rudskogen 7-10th July this year. (Camping area opens thursday 7th July 09 AM).

DRIVE YOUR CAR AT THE TRACK –
Everybody who has a car and a driving license can drive on the 3,2 km long fantastic Rudskogen race track. Rudskogen is one of North Europe’s best tracks and gives you an incredible driving experience both for road cars and racing cars. We have divided the driving in to following groups: > Streetcars (both with or without plates). > Sports Cars (sport cars and hyper cars). > Drifting and drifting SHOW (Show is for selected drivers). > Gatebil Extreme Racing and Time Attack cup. > World Powerslide Championship. > Gatebil Superstar Drift Challenge.

Gatebil «Sports Cars» is a heat for fine cars that want to go fast and without drifting or sliding. There are none pre-booking for driving on the track. One passanger are allowed, but need to be above 150 cm. NEW in 2016: Both passenger and driver need to have racing suit. If you dont have one, you can rent this at Gatebil. SUPER 3 – A TEAM DRIFT CONTEST
Gatebil has pulled a perfect 180- and changed the plans for «Superstar Drift Challenge» at Gatebils festival at Rudskogen Norway 7-10th of July 2016. Instead a completely different, new and awesome concept has been born: «Gatebil Super 3» in cooperation with Monster Energy. All licensed cars and drivers may enter the competition.

WORLD POWERSLIDE CHAMPIONSHIP 2016 –
This is the fifth time Gatebil crowns the «World Champion in Powerslide». Drivers from every part of the world are participating and of course all the best from Norway and Scandinavia. Both Street and driftingcars with both 2WD and 4WD can join, all in one class. Who will drift and slide most exciting with maximum amount of smoke and closest to the pins around the carousel at Rudskogen. Gatebil are choosing which drivers that are elected to the contest. The sign up are limited to 80 cars at the qualifying on Saturday. The 20 best are driving the final on Sunday.

The first year of the famous kiwi-drifter Mike ‘Mad Mike’ Whiddett won the World Powerslide Contest. In 2013 Fredric Aasbø won the final, and in 2014 Taavi Toomara from Estland, and last year it was Robin lsaker from Norway that was elected as “World Champion”. At the picture above is Rasmus Möller from Sweden who hit one of the cones and got “smoked-out” of the contest.

YOUR CAR AT EXHIBITION –
The go-kart track area has room for more than 600 cars and are dedicated for car exhibiting. We are electing the three best cars to win a trophy in 24 different classes. Different car brands, styling, tuning, wheels, paint, retro, Amcar, sport cars and more. Park your car at the exhibit area just one day or the whole weekend.

HAVE A RIDE WITH 500 HP GATEBIL TAXI!
You can still get a ride around the track, even if you didn’t bring your own car to Gatebil. Discover the Rudskogen race track sideways in a race car. Gatebil has 3 taxis that are driving all weekend. All the taxies are BMW M5 (E60) with 550 hp V10 engine, raceready with four race seats.

One ride with the taxi will cost 500,- NOK (ca. 50 EUR) and you need to be at least 150 cm to ride with this taxi. You are booking the rides at the Gatebil-shop.

MONSTER ENERGY AFTERTRACK –
A big festival stage with live music and shows from 20.00 to 02.00 Friday and Saturday. Everyone with festival tickets have access to Monster Energy Aftertrack!

The huge Monster Energy Aftertrack-stage are right in the middle between the pit area and the main camping. At the stage you will see live bands, dj’s and off course the election of «Gatebil Pit-girls of the year 2016».

STAY AT GATEBIL CAMP –
All together it’s 5 camping areas at Gatebil, with more than 10.000 people expected to stay during the weekend. The drivers usual camp at the track area and those who participate for the crazy, wild and enormous party traditionally camp at the main camp where the Aftertrack is. The camping opens on Thursday 07th July at 10pm!

All camping areas are in walking distance to the track area. Racing team that are camping are closer to the main pit.

TO BE A SPECTATOR AT GATEBIL –
Gatebil is big fun for everyone! You don’t need to bring your car and drive on the track, show your car at the exhibition, or go crazy with partying at the camp. You can either buy a day ticket and be at Gatebil just one day, or buy a festival ticket and bring car, tent, wagon or even a bus for the weekend. It’s plenty of parking spots just walking distance from the track area.

Day ticket costs 250,- NOK online (300,- NOK at the gate). Children under 12 years of age are free of charge in company with an adult. Tickets are sold at the gate and at web.

STAY AT HOTEL –

Rudskogen Motorpark is located in South-East of Norway, between Sarpsborg and Rakkestad. Approximately 1 hours 15 minutes drive from Oslo and 2,5 hours from Gotenborg in Sweden.
