Gatebil Taxi
More info

Gatebil’s three yellow BMW M5 taxis have transported thousands of visitors at the Gatebil festival around Vålerbanen, Mantorp Park and Rudskogen sideways since 2005. We are now building a taxi no. 4!

History:

The first taxi was a BMW 3 series with M3 six and turbo. The following year we built a Volvo XC90 with tube frame and big-block V8. Both of these have now got new owners, and in the Taxi garage there are now 3 BMW M5 (E60)
The M5 V10 engine, which originally produces 507 horses, has been slightly up-tuned, and all cars are lighter by almost 300 kg. Otherwise, all taxis are specially rigged as racing cars, with a solid roll cage, 4 deep Sparco racing seats, fire extinguisher system and 4-point harness. Each car can carry 3 passengers. Price per person per lucky you 700,- NOK/SEK.
ATTENTION! There is no age limit to sit on, but you must be at least 150 cm tall to fit the seats and harnesses.

Taxi tours you usually can buy here (Tickets for the current day are issued at 8:00 am.),
if not, ask at Gatebil Taxi tent at the festival – that means that there are no online booking available and you have to arrange your trip at the spot.

TEAM GATEBIL TAXI

For only 700,- NOK/SEK you can have an amazing ride around the track at all Gatebil festivals this season – Vålerbanen, Mantorp Park and Rudskogen. We drive 2 to 3 passes on a set of rear tires…

Camping
More info

Do you want to experience everything that happens at Gatebil, both during the day and in the evening? Then you must stay at the Gatebil camp! Here you will find useful information and some simple rules of thumb that are important to follow so that everyone has as much fun and good time as possible.

NO PRE-ORDER
At all Streetcar festivals there are large camping areas with room for everyone. Groups of friends who want to gather are encouraged to come together, possibly agree with the guards that you yourself hold space for those who arrive a little later.

FESTIVAL TICKET GIVES ACCESS TO CAMP AREAS FOR PERSON
Anyone with a festival ticket can stay at the camp-site. All cars on camping-area requires a car pass and the caravan is included. Car pass costs 500,- NOK if you buy online, and the price is the same for cars and buses.

Price example: 3 friends come driving in the same car with a caravan and will stay at the campsite. They then buy 1 festival ticket each, plus pay NOK 500 for the car pulling the caravan. NOK 500 for the car is the price for the entire period, not per day. Do not buy more than 1 ticket for one car.

FAMILY CAMP
At the festival camp, there is often an extra good atmosphere in the evening. But there are also separate camp where it is quieter – we call it family camp. You can see where this is on the area maps or just ask Gatebil crew at the arrival.

SHOWERS AND TOILETS
On the area map for each festival, it is marked where there are showers and toilets.

AFTERTRACK IN THE EVENING
At all Gatebil festivals there is Aftertrack in the evening. Concerts, shows and DJs – either on a large outdoor stage or in a tent. Anyone over 18 with a festival ticket has access to Aftertrack.

RULES OF ORDER

CLEAN UP YOUR OWN CAMPING AREA – If there is a bit of a mess around the caravan during the festival, there is no order police asking you to clean it up, but before traveling home, it must be as clean as when you arrived. It is NOT allowed to leave sofas, refrigerators, broken caravans and other things like that. The area must be cleaned in rubbish bags which are handed out by our cleaning team.

DANGER OF FIRE, GLASS BOTTLES, DRIVING A MOPED – The risk of fire is something everyone must take seriously, and common sense is what counts. Disposable grills are prohibited, but regular grills on legs are permitted, unless otherwise announced before or at the festival. Glass bottles are also not allowed, as broken glass is unpleasant for both people and cars. It is also not permitted to drive mopeds, scooters and the like around the camp or depot areas. Only with the exception of ATVs that tow race cars to and from the pit lane.

FIRE WARNING / BRANNFARE: . All fire grills (wood/coal) are prohibited!

DEPOT (asphalt) – only gass grill (with fire extinguisher, next to grill)
CAMP 1 (grass) – only gass grill (with fire extinguisher, next to grill)
CAMP 2 (gravel) – only gass grill (with fire extinguisher, next to grill)
CAMP 3 (gravel) – only gass grill (with fire extinguisher, next to grill)
CAMP 4 (gravel) – only gass grill (with fire extinguisher, next to grill)

All visitors at Gatebil has to show extra caution when use of warm materials. Smoking should be avoided in areas with grass/trees.

LET THE CAR STAND! – At Gatebil camping it is forbidden to drive a car after 21:00. Driving cars in the area is allowed only with arrival and are departure. Starting the car and revving the engine is also not permitted. Remember, if you are behind the wheel of your car and have drunk alcohol, the police can arrest you for drunk driving even if you don’t start the car.

GUARDS AT GATEBIL
ProTect is responsible for peace and order at Gatebil. The police are also at the scene, and both the fire brigade and the infirmary are open 24 hours a day. See area map or ask any of Gatebil Crew members for assistance.

PLAYING MUSIC
It must be quiet in all areas after 02:00.
No loud music is allowed on the family campsite and it must be completely quiet starting 08:00 p.m.

Trackdriving
More info

Gatebil is of course primarily about track driving for both track and street cars. That’s how it’s always been! So that EVERYONE can find their place adapted to the type of car, level of ambition and driving style. Here you have an overview of all types of driving that will take place at Rudskogen 2023!

Track driving explained
More info

At Gatebil festival there will be a large variety of cars that drive on the track. Everything from regular street cars to pure racing cars that do drifting and/or track driving. There is simply an incredible amount of different things to see!

Everyone who wants to has the chance to participate. Both street legal and also the ones without the papers are welcome to participate.

STRAIGHT LINE

This heat is for you who want to drive on the track with your car, but not to drift. In the straight line group you can test your sports car, converted car or just see what your old GTI can do on the track. Maybe to try to improve your lap times or just feel like driving over the speed limit in a legal way. Drifting is therefore not permitted in this group. If you want to skid or drift, don’t drive Straight Line!

OPEN LINE

When you don’t feel like driving with the drifters, but would like to slide a little yourself – then this heat is for you. Drive fast and drift. Open line is the heat for those who want to slide in the curves or for those who are beginners in drifting. In Open Line, you keep a little more distance between the cars so that everyone has the opportunity to test drifting in a slightly “calmer” way. This group is also perfect for those who might want to skid a bit with their car out of the curves and then get the speed on the straight. If you are a racing driver in drifting, you should not drive in this group, then it is Drift Line that suits you better!

DRIFT LINE

Drift Line is the heat for those who just want to drift – preferably over the entire track all the time! Here we find the fastest drifting drivers. If you are a racing driver in drifting, this is where you should drive. Here you drive faster and with less distance to each other with 100% operation all the time. New for this year is that we are dividing the Drift Line into two groups – a group for you beginners and a group for more experienced drifters. At each Drift Line session, the experienced drivers start, then the beginners are welcome on the track!

SLADDGÅRD

The Sladdgården is perfect for those who want to test Drifting, but don’t want to drive on a track. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or experienced. Here you can drive yourself on a cone track.

Gatebil Extreme
More info

In 2023, Gatebil Extreme will finally be run again as a full series of races at all 5 Gatebil festivals of the year.

ABOUT GATEBIL EXTREME

Gatebil Extreme is Gatebil’s own Time Attack and Racing series, where everything from home-built budget cars to fully professional former factory cars participate.
The series follows the FIA’s safety requirements, but otherwise you are almost free to do what you want with the car, and several have engines of over an incredible 1000 horses. Gatebil Extreme was started in 2005, and since then over 200 cars/drivers have participated.

EXTREME TIME ATTACK

In Time Attack, the best lap time applies. Here, the course is open for 45 minutes, where participants can choose to drive just 1 round, or 18 as the maximum allowed. Everyone can drive in the pit lane or depot at any time to change tires and adjust the car, and out on the track again to try to drive even faster.
The times from the Extreme Time Attack provide the starting line-up for the Extreme Race.

EXTREME RACE

Extreme Race is a racing series with a joint start and first to the finish line. How many laps – varies from the track competition is held on – Vålerbanen, Mantorp park or Rudskogen.

Breisladden
More info

Breisladden has for many been the biggest highlight of the weekend since the first competition in 2001.

EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE

As always, everyone can participate in the competition. Both those who have street cars and those who drive drifting/track cars. Amateurs and professionals. 2 and 4-wheel drive. All in the same class.

SIMPLE RULES

The rules are simple and eventually familiar to most. What concerns you is to drive the widest, fastest, have full control and make the best possible show

It is slightly different what the judges give weight to the three tracks/swings that are driven (Vålerbanen, Mantorp Park and Rudskogen). Below you will see a description of what is important for you to get a lot of points at Rudskogen:

QUALIFICATION

In the qualifier, alle et run runs. The 20 best move on to the final. How many are allowed to run the final depends on how many participants there are for each competition.

FINALE

In the final, alle et run. The 6 best move on, and the 3 best of these again run the super final itself.

I want to drive on the track!
